Toyota is one of the oldest automakers in the world. They have managed to produce cars for each and every region in the world, and their cars are always loved. In recent years, they have been adapting to the new era of EV and hybrid cars, making theirs better than their competitors. So far, we can say that they are doing a great job. This year alone, they have introduced quite a number of cars, winning the hearts of many with their new powertrains and designs.
Not so long ago, the Toyota Yaris Cross made its official debut in Southeast Asia. However, this one is different in that it is not the same as the one in the Japanese and European markets. Instead, Toyota decided to make the 2024 Yaris Cross, which made its debut, completely different. And one of the most notable differences with the other markets is that this one will be riding on the Daihatsu New Global Architecture (DNGA) platform, which is mostly being used for developing markets.
As far as the dimensions go, we can also say that the 2024 Toyota Yaris Cross also has a pretty nice design. Toyota has based the entire design of the car on the theme "Solid & Dynamic." Toyota has emphasized a robust and athletic exterior, building the vehicle with a chiseled and muscular form that is greatly complimented by striking character lines. This serves it well by giving it a captivating aura. When we look at the front of the 2024 Toyota Yaris Cross, we can see that it comes with a trapezoidal grille that is flanked by slim LED headlights, triangular foglamp housings, and a chiseled front bumper. Owners can also decide to add some style by going for a black contrasting roof, but this depends on which variant they are going for. Some of the other design features include a tapered roofline, angular LED taillights, and available two-tone wheels. These wheels do a perfect job of giving the side profile a dynamic look and making it stand out. The rear is also not so bad, offering sleek LED taillights. So, when it comes to the exterior design of the car, we can give it a thumbs up.
One of the parts of this car that has seen a significant change is under the hood. And just by thinking about it, you can get pretty excited once you know what it has to offer. The 2024 Toyota Yaris Cross will now come in two 1.5-liter engine options. The base engine will be the same non-electrified engine that has been used in lots of Toyotas for ages now. This engine will manage to produce about 105 horsepower and 138 Nm of torque. This base engine will then be paired with either a 5-speed manual or a CVT transmission.
The new Yaris Cross will also come with the full Toyota Safety Sense Suite, which will include a bunch of safety features. Some of them include automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning and lane centering, full-speed adaptive cruise control, blind spot warning, and many more. Another new feature of the safety system is that it now has the ability to be updated over the air, which is pretty amazing. Now, you can always ride with some of the latest features.
The first country to receive the new Daihatsu-based 2024 Toyota Yaris Cross will be Indonesia, which is where it made its debut. And given its dimensions and what it has to offer, it will be slotted between the Raize and the Corolla Cross. However, even though it has already made its debut, we have yet to know the official price of the Yaris Cross.
