This was a three-day, two-night backpacking trip to explore the main trail on Mount Whitney after a very heavy snow season. Robert, Liming, and I stayed at the Whitney Portal campground the first night and at Lone Pine Lake the second night. We reached Outpost Camp before turning around. The weather was great, even though we had some afternoon thunderstorms. Early on, we had to negotiate two very large avalanche debris fields. Date of this trip was from May 19th to 21st, 2023.
