Today we're going to be talking about the new generation of prosthetic limbs and how they help amputees regain sensation and feel the ground. These prosthetic limbs fuse directly to the bone in a process called osseointegration (OI). In this video, I'll be explaining how osseointegrated implants differ from traditional implants, how osseointegration works on a cellular level, and how it allows amputees to feel the ground underneath them (osseoperception).
