The engine options on the Honda City are limited but there's one engine we always recommend. Three things to keep in mind. First, the City is available with a petrol engine with a 6-speed manual or a CVT automatic, and there's a strong hybrid which is more expensive and more sophisticated. Second, if you're looking at the plain petrol we recommend the CVT for city use. It is not a dull or inefficient combination at all, it will feel responsive and convenient for city use while offering you better fuel efficiency than expected. If you spend more Tim on the highways, then opt for the manual which will offer you a bit more of a sense of performance and a quieter cabin. Third, our default recommendation will be the strong hybrid which will sophisticated driving experience in the city, higher fuel efficiency and strong performance.
