Today, I look at the broader market of compact electric vehicles and in particular the Volkswagen ID.3 Family Pro Performance.

Despite being on the market for a couple of years now, the ID.3 has proved very popular as a great electric alternative to VW Golf and similar size vehicles.
This is a very efficient car at shorter ranges and mixed driving, but what is it like on a 70 mph motorway journey? What's it like in winter? Today, we take the ID.3 on my ‘Southwest 70’ test to see what range and efficiencies the vehicle can achieve in near freezing conditions.

I also discuss my opinions on the ride, cabin functionality, materials and of course, the price.
