I forgot to mention that you want them to air dry only! If you use a towel the fibers will get stuck on the mat and you may have to wash them again.

Today is just a very quick tip on how I wash my cutting mats. My mats last me about a year and I wash them about twice in that year. Now I do find that they will lose that sticky backing after washing them so many times and that is when I will go out and buy new. But before I knew you could wash them I went from buying mats every few months to only once a year. So washing them will definitely save you a little money.
