As many of you know, I'm not a big fan of Porsche due to their repetitive design language and absurd pricing. After driving all of its competitors, it was time to finally review a 718 Porsche Boxter. Initial thoughts on the new Flat 4 were a let down. I wish they kept the flat 6 and developed it rather than scrapping it for the smaller engine. But 300hp and 280 lb/ft is surprisingly plenty of power when the car handles as good as the 718. I've never been more confident coming out of a sharp corner wit ha RWD car than I was with the Porsche.

You can almost feel the center of gravity being so low that the car is simply planted to the ground. Comparing the 718 to the likes of the Audi TTRS, the Toyota Supra, the Alfa 4C, and even the Corvette (C7), this car performs tremendously well on the twisty roads. Not so much for daily commuting. Partially due to the base model I was driving, I believe the car needs a few options to spice up the interior. The convertible top was also rather noisy.

All in all, it packs a hell of a punch in the proper setting, but drives rather tame in any other environment. This 718 Boxter is only a few options away from being the ultimate daily driver.
