James McAVOY was born in Glasgow, Scotland on 21 April 1979 and trained at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama

Openness in a period when polarisation is threatening our ability to sanely communicate as one indivisible society, is what artists can impel to make a difference: By offering a safe cinematographic, theatrical, sculptural or pictorial moment during which one can re-learn, without consequences in the real word, to reconnect with complex possibilities, questions and dissenting opinions; re-learn to accept that human reality is way more complex than any binary response "like / don't like".

And if you can impel an audience to wonder, as James McAvoy said: "Why do I feel like I want to understand someone that I hate?", you are helping society to make a first step & move towards realising that peace can only be achieved by enemies who accept to meet.

The sanity of a society doesn't take measure from consumerist but humanist metrics.
