GrassMaster was launched in 1989 by Tarkett Sports as the first stitched hybrid grass pitch in the world. Computer-controlled machines stitch the in-house produced high performance polypropylene fibres (HPF) on natural grass (post seeding) or on a sandbase (prior seeding). The PP fibres are injected 18 cm deep, in a grid of 2 cm x 2 cm to provide vertical reinforcement throughout the pitch. 20 million HPF fibres reinforce every single GrassMaster pitch.
