At their new headquarters on Knowhere, the Guardians of the Galaxy find themselves under attack by Adam Warlock, a Sovereign warrior of perfect physical and mental prowess, created by High Priestess Ayesha. His mission: to annihilate the Guardians and abduct their tech-savvy member, Rocket. With a display of raw power, Adam swiftly overpowers Rocket, Mantis, Peter, Nebula, and Groot. Kraglin’s arrows, swift and deadly, prove futile against Adam’s impenetrable metallic skin.

Even Drax, with his brute strength, is effortlessly subdued. In the ensuing chaos, Rocket sustains critical injuries. Just when all hope seems lost, Nebula lands a surprise attack, stabbing Adam. Stunned and wounded, Adam beats a hasty retreat, leaving the Guardians in a state of shock and relief.
