Here are the box wall shelves I built as part of the room renovation for my daughter. These shelves were made from one sheet of plywood and I designed the shelves to look like they were floating.

The construction of the shelves is super simple and a great DIY beginner project. The floating box shelves could be built with simple tools. Basically, all you would need to build the DIY shelves would be a circular saw and a sander.

The french cleats to mount the shelves can hold a lot of weight and made mounting the shelves super simple.
