Monzo's on a mission to build a bank which is continously improving it's tech. Monzo doesn't rely on planned downtime to ship new features and updates. To enable this, we've focused heavily on building our own platform and infrastructure.

Backend engineer Suhail Patel takes us on a tour of the infrastructure base we've built at Monzo on top of open source components. It's a platform which allows engineers to ship code hundreds of times a day whilst maintaining reliability. We'll go through the journey of running a crowdfunding campaign on the same platform which runs the bank and how we prepared our systems to handle the load. We will also talk about the tooling we've built to help us respond more quickly when incidents occur and things don't quite work and how we monitor Monzo as a whole.
