David Rhew (Chief Medical Officer at Microsoft), Christina Farr (Health Tech Lead at OMERS Ventures), and Steven Chan (Stanford School of Medicine) are interviewed by instructor Ernestine Fu.

In the last few decades, we have seen incredible innovations in medicine. We have been able to eradicate smallpox, learned how to transplant organs, and even created artificial hearts. In less than a year, we were able to develop multiple vaccines to COVID-19 (vaccines typically take at least a decade to develop) that have an unprecedented level of overall immunity. While recent advancements have been impressive, we still have a long way to go. The future of medicine will have even more profound impacts on our daily lives. In this session, we explore what recent advances have been made and what the future holds for us.

Topics covered include COVID-19 and vaccine passports, artificial intelligence and unstructured data sources, telehealth and voice user interfaces, investment opportunities, and the broader issues of health disparity.
