The small log cabin is taking shape. The floor is now finished and I used the traditional Japenese technique called Shou Sugi Ban. This technique is used to protect the wood, reduce the risk of rot, and prevent insects from burrowing into the wood. Despite all of the practical benefits, I actually just like the look and find it fun to gently char the wood and watch the grain patterns appear.

On my dovetail cabin, I built all of the walls and then cut holes for the doors and windows. On this round log, small cabin I am going to frame the doors and windows first, and then add the wall logs.

Thanks for watching!
