Welcome to the Warwick Economics Summit 2022! We were delighted to host Lars Peter Hansen, the 2013 Nobel Memorial Prize Laureate in Economics.

Professor Hansen is David Rockefeller Distinguished Service Professor of economics at the University of Chicago. He is best known for developing the econometric technique generalised method of moments, which has made revolutionary advances in various disciplines including labour economics, finance and macroeconomics. Professor Hansen’s recent work focuses on the macroeconomic consequences of climate change and he has co-authored a paper titled “Pricing Uncertainty Induced by Climate Change”.


The Warwick Economics Summit (WES) is the largest student-run Economics summit in Europe. Now having run for nearly two decades, the Summit has evolved in form and stature into a truly international forum where talented students from various universities listen to some of the world's most revered and inspirational speakers on a wide range of topics.
