In this experiment, I used Audacity software to remove static noise from a recording of a distant AM radio station signing off. I first post the audio clip without noise reduction. This clip is then repeated at 01:45 with Audacity. I used the default noise reduction settings (6dB, 6 sensitivity, 3 frequency smoothing). This rendered the audio low, so I then boosted the audio by 6dB. WMTC 730 Vancleve, Kentucky was a small radio station that has been off the air since 2013.
