Rollo was a fierce and ambitious viking warrior, leading raids along the coasts of France and England during the dark ages. His infamous siege of Paris showcased his military prowess and established his reputation as a formidable leader. In 911, Rollo and King Charles the Simple of West Francia negotiated the Treaty of Saint-Clair-sur-Epte, which granted Rollo control over a swath of territory in northern France. In exchange for land and the promise of peace, Rollo agreed to end his raids and defend the region against further Viking incursions. In exchange, he became the first King of Normandy.
