General Notes:
1. This presentation covers the material required to pass CAPT116 – General Emergency Services while attempting to provide broader context and motivation to begin a journey within CAP’s Emergency Services mission.
2. The latest hardcopy version of CAPT116 test can be downloaded from the legacy LMS by any ES Officer. At the time of recording (3 Jun 2021), the latest version is from 2009 and matches the online test in Axis. The presentation does not directly address every question, so familiarize yourself with the test questions to include in the commentary (i.e. speak beyond the slides).
3. The test is corrected to 100%, so any quiz question where you discover you did not explicitly address the material can serve as a discussion at that point. (for example, question 5 is not directly addressed and is not easily woven into the presentation).
4. While the test is correct to 100%, conducting the quiz orally with the entire group is actually a rewarding experience. If the room is in agreement, you can comment and move on. If the room is in disagreement, you can ask people to explain why they choose an

Errata/Notes from 3 June 2021:
This recording doesn’t explicitly cover the composition of aircrew. Question 21 is a true/false question regarding the “typical aircrew” being MP, MO, and MS. I don’t like this question as the typical aircrew varies by mission. A typical aircrew for SAR includes an MS, but an AP takes the scanner’s place for a DR mission. The “correct” answer is true, but this is a great example where correcting to 100% actually benefits the participants as either answer is valid with appropriate justification.
