General Fusion is developing Magnetized Target Fusion technology to create fusion energy.

In this approach, we fill a tank with liquid metal, spinning the metal until it forms a cavity. We inject a hydrogen plasma into the cavity. We use high-powered pneumatic pistons to compress the plasma, increasing its density and heating it to more than 100 million degrees Celsius. This creates fusion conditions. Hydrogen atoms fuse and release energy in the form of heat.
