Hundreds of students march on the University of Southern California campus in support of Muslim student Asna Tabassum, after the school cancelled her valedictorian commencement speech. Tabassum, a biomedical engineering student who earned top marks in her class, had posted in support of Palestinians on her social media. University officials said 'safety' concerns were the reason for the decision, and that it had 'nothing to do with freedom of speech'. Tabassum said in a statement that USC had 'succumbed to a campaign of hate meant to silence my voice'
