Lt. Gen. John F. Goodman, USMC, is a highly-decorated retired United States Marine Corps service member and the recipient of the Alumni Achievement Award.

Lt. Gen. Goodman came to ASU on an athletic football scholarship. Having been instilled early on with a strong ethic of responsibility and inspired by his coaches’ military stories, he embraced the Army draft induction that interrupted his ASU education as his duty. Post-graduation, his decades-long commitment and compassion for his country and family have made him an effective leader and inspiration to others.

Now, as an instructor with ASU teaching leadership planning and decision-making, Lt. Gen. Goodman is bringing his expertise to online students.
