In a small town of Chasiv Yar, just several kilometers away from the eastern front of Russia's war in Ukraine, a rare house has remained intact. Most of the local residents have fled to safer areas. But Vitalii, 74, refuses to leaved despite the deadly absence of heating, electricity, and water supplies. He spends his days fixing old tape recorders and watching clips on an old computer powered by the generator he got as a present from journalists visiting the area. Why does he choose to stay?
