Chlorpyrifos is still one of several general use neurotoxic pesticides that are legal to use on our food in the United States. It works by targeting an enzyme that facilitates the movement of signals from the brain to an organism's muscles. Exposure to Chlorpyrifos has been linked with neurological effects, endocrine disruption, and cardiovascular diseases. Earthjustice has been working tirelessly for decades to get this pesticide banned.
