Full Stop Australia Chief Executive Karen Bevan labeled the national cabinet meeting to address the surge in domestic violence “a good first step”.

This comes after reports revealed 27 women have died from gender-based violence in Australia in 2024.

Ms Bevan told Sky News Australia “we need some kind of major public movement on the prevention end”.

“That’s where those big picture, national enquiries could focus.”

“The best way to prevent women dying as a result of intimate partner violence is to change the dynamic of relationships.”
