As promised, here is my attempt at Main Titles for Sam Raimi’s ‘Spider-Man 4’!

These titles are for a hypothetical ‘Spider-Man 4’, which continues the story of Tobey Maguire’s Peter Parker (or ‘‘Peter Two’’), after he has returned to his own universe following the events of ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’.

For these titles of this potential version of ‘Spider-Man 4’, I have taken inspiration from things that were both confirmed and rumoured about the cancelled film before it was due to be released on May 6th, 2011, specifically with regards to the story/cast & crew involved. Sam Raimi had considered showing the transformation of Dr. Curt Connors into the Lizard. As well as this, John Malkovich was in talks to appear as Adrian Toomes/The Vulture, as was Anne Hathaway to play Felicia Hardy/Black Cat.

As with the official titles for the first three films, I have incorporated scenes from the earlier films, as well as from ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’, showing the journey that Tobey’s Peter has gone through up until this point.

For the visuals, I have changed the colour of the opening web sequence from green (as I had originally planned in my ‘Coming Soon’ video for these titles) to red. I did this to better fit with the sequence which showcases scenes from ‘Spider-Man 2’ (which also features a red background, and you may notice this sequence is in fact sections of the DVD Menu for SM2!). These titles featuring a red hue for the web sequence also fits with the previous three opening titles in the series, with ‘SM1’ & ‘SM3’ being blue, and ‘SM2’ & ‘SM4’ (in this case) being red.

For the main theme, I have mixed the themes from the earlier films, and for the section of the theme that would contain the villain’s motif, I have incorporated part of a track from another Sam Raimi film, specifically from the OST for ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’.

For the cast, I have incorporated both those who were already confirmed and those who were most likely to appear in the film, as well as a few cast members who were speculated and rumoured to be involved with the movie before it was cancelled (specifically John Malkovich & Anne Hathaway). For the crew members, I have added those who were originally confirmed for ‘Spider-Man 4’, as well as some from ‘Spider-Man 3’ and ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’.
