Isabelle Huppert needs no introduction. She is undeniably one of the biggest legends of French cinema and has shared the screen with all of the greats, both in France and internationally, including Claude Chabrol, Michael Haneke, François Ozon and Wes Anderson, in films which have gone down as classics such as 8 Women, The Piano Teacher and Claire's Camera. She won the César for Best Actress in 1996 for La Cérémonie, and was also nominated at the Oscars in 2017 for Elle, directed by the Dutch Paul Verhoeven. All of this is not forgetting her prolific theater career (we all remember her breathtaking performance in Mary Said What She Said by Robert Wilson at the Théâtre de la Ville in Paris). In line with the launch of the new issue of Vogue France, Isabelle Huppert is the special guest for the video, “Life in Looks”, in which she looks back over the fashion outfits which have shaped her life, from 1974 to today. From a simple Mickey T-shirt for the film, Going Places by Bertrand Blier in 1974, with Gérard Depardieu, to her unforgettable black dress in Madame Bovary - a character who would have loved to read Vogue, according to the actress - we run through Isabelle Huppert’s most on-trend red-carpet looks. Included are a bold red Armani dress worn to the Vanity Fair afterparty at the Oscars in 2017 and a Dior look worn to the Césars the same year, not forgetting her memorable appearances at the photocall of the Balenciaga Spring/Summer 2022 show at Paris Fashion Week and at the latest MET Gala, for which she once again called on Demna Gvasalia to dream up a custom Balenciaga dress which was more than spectacular. See Isabelle Huppert’s best fashion moments and more now.
