Do Catholics (or anyone else) have the absolute assurance they will go to Heaven when they die? I can't tell you how many times this has been asked of me as some sort of challenge to my faith. The truth is, many protestants don't believe in this either, but let's talk about why this is a "gotcha question" used against Catholics and how Catholics should answer.
