On October 16, 2021, the Coast Division of the PCR-NMRA took a field trip to the California State Railroad Museum in Sacramento, CA. The CSRM is always a great destination for any kind of rail fan, including modelers. In our case, it was even more interesting because there's a fairly new exhibit at the CSRM that deals with model railroading very directly.

The exhibit is called "The Magic of Scale Model Railroading" and one of its creators was present to give the group of about 30 of us the behind the scenes stories about the exhibit.

While most of the attendees rode an Amtrak California Capitol Corridor train to the event, some drove, even as long as four hours, to attend. As a way to highlight this event, I put this video together. More events like this are being planned as a way to keep the membership engaged and, of course, like so many other activities we enjoy in our hobbies, to build camaraderie.
