Andrew David Baron is a text-based conceptual artist from the United States with over 20 years of experience. He lives and works in Calgary, Canada. The work looks at the strange and incredibly interesting world of wordplay, mostly in the English language. It does this within the framework and spirit of minimalism, color theory, and concrete poetry. This is done in the pursuit of absolute truth. There are a lot of different ideas about love, loss, memory, space, time, life, death, math, science, and a lot more. Concrete poems are broken down into their most basic parts. These parts are then put together and given intensely felt color gradients to create a wide range of feelings, moods, and insights. The artist has been able to reach new audiences all over the world thanks to his creative use of social media, especially Instagram, as a conceptual artwork to visually and figuratively talk to his late father across distance and time.
