Deep in the Bocas del Toro region of Panama, known to be one of the poorest regions in the entire country, there are a multitude of different indigenous groups.

Today we'll visit the Naso, one of the smallest indigenous groups in the area, who live right along the River Teribe.

Back in the day, the Nosa were a warrior clan, but now live a life of farming and agriculture. They are known to be experts at making handicrafts, which they sell in the markets. Interestingly enough, the Naso are also known to be the only group that are under a monarchy, meaning they have a king that rules them. Because there are no jobs in the area, the Naso are sustenance famers who don't rely on making an income - just live off the food they produce.

In order to get to the Naso villages, you'll have to charter a small boat. We ended up going to a traditional village called Tres Piedras.
