This sand dune cave was formed over hundreds if not thousands of years from wind eroding the walls of the chamber.

The Great Chamber is also commonly referred to as Cutler Point. You can drive in from roads on both East and West, Johnson Canyon Road from the East or Kanab Canyon Road from the West. The dirt road is around 17 miles roundtrip, it is a deep sandy road which requires a high clearance vehicle. If you don’t have an appropriate off-road vehicle there are many tour companies in Kanab that you can book who will take you to the Great Chambers. Off the main highway from Kanab, you will take trail 100 which runs East/West. Take this road for about 4.5 miles until reaching trail 103 where you will turn North and take it for another 4 miles all the way up to Great Chambers.

Once you arrive at the trailhead, the hiking trail up to the Great Chamber is roughly a quarter mile long with about 300 feet of elevation gain through deep sand. The elevation is around 6300 feet so be prepared to be out of breath hiking up the sandy trail.

A wide angle lens is a must if you're planning on photographing. Without one you'll not be able to capture the entirety of the cave and sand dune.
