The engine control unit continuously monitors various parameters such as throttle position, vehicle speed, load demand, and engine temperature to determine when cylinder deactivation is appropriate. The transition is usually accomplished by adjusting fuel injection, valve timing, and ignition timing to maintain smooth operation and minimize vibration.

Reactivation: When the driver demands more power, such as during acceleration or heavy load conditions, the deactivated cylinders are quickly reactivated, and all cylinders resume their normal operation to provide the required power output.

The benefits of Active Cylinder Technology include improved fuel efficiency, reduced emissions, and lower operating costs.
