We recently had the chance to take Teledyne Optech's new G2 mount equipped with dual Galaxy T2000 sensors, out for a spin! With the opposing fore and aft mount angles of the dual sensors, the data collected shows excellent vertical post spacing with minimal shadowing on power poles, structures, and buildings. The two sensors create an interesting processing workflow because they provide heavy overlap, not only between flight lines, but between the two sensors within flight lines. Using our 3D image format, we were able to preserve the resolution and colors on solid objects, while leaving other features as native points. This type of distribution detection can be a game changer when collecting data in congested, urban environments.
