Following a war between the Frost Giants and Asgardians, Odin, King of Asgard, found Loki and took him home to raise as his son and an Asgardian prince along with his biological son Thor. The God of Mischief was burdened with glorious purpose. His desire to be a king drove him to sow chaos. Once he was older he was sent by Thanos to terrify a crowd of humans and take over earth, the stepson of Odin was amused by their inferiority and demanded they kneel before him! However, he was no match for earth's greatest defenders. He lost against the Avengers and was sent away.

At one point The Dark Elves returned to Asgard for revenge over Odin, they killed Mother Frigga and began trying to destroy the world. Overcome with grief and remorse, Thor and Loki teamed up to fight the new foe. After the Dark Elves. The God of Green Masqueradeed for a long period as King Odin And enjoyed life as the ruler of Asgard until of course he was caught by his brother. He redeemed himself by fighting alongside his brother against their evil sister. The Last chapter of this magician's chapter was when he was threatened by the Brothers' death, rather than running away, he relinquished the Tesseract to Thanos. The Titan ends up killing the God of mischief but not before promising his brother the sun will shine on both of them again.
