As suggested by his Quartermaster, along the route to Tulum, where Edward Kenway must meet the young James Kidd to find out more about the mysterious Observatory, the pirate decides to "take some prizes along the way".

After plundering enough ships, Edward decides to make a stop at Cape Bonavista to better explore the site of his shipwreck following his encounter with the assassin Duncan Walpole and seize the treasures hidden on the cape.
