The creative process of designing and building a teahouse structure from redwood. The design idea is an interpretation of a Japanese Teahouse with wall and sliding door panels that emulate interlacing branches in a forest. The lumber is sawn redwood I milled from our property along the Pacific coast of Northern California. The structure's wall panels are made of translucent fiberglass and redwood. Myself and Julie built the teahouse over a six month time period. The teahouse borders a redwood forest and overlooks our pond.
