We’d just like to explain some things about the cage some people are misinformed about. We get asked what is the purpose of the human cage & we will explain below.

1️⃣- our number one priority is to love and protect the lions in our care. All animals in sanctuary or captivity benefit from some enrichment. The principle of enrichment is to enhance the quality of captive animal care by identifying and providing the environmental stimuli necessary for optimal psychological and physiological well-being. This cage provides this to our different lion prides as it is something unusual they can smell, scent mark, rub against, jump on and investigate.

2️⃣- in order to keep the lions safe and protected here at GG we have to find $15,000 per month. As a non profit organisation where do you think that kind of money comes from? Our promised monthly donations amount to approx $600 per month. We have to earn the rest just to keep the lions alive. This is an awful lot of money to find in a predominantly 3rd world country, and that is with no managers actually being paid; just donating all their time for the love & benefit of the lions.

The plexiglass which helped us make it dual purpose so that all lion lovers (& not just photographers) could encounter a safe & profound experience with the magnificent GG lions was also donated to us by Florida TV, Germany.
