About n*Gen: Adaptation and Resilience in Wearable Futures
This talk investigates the extension of human abilities through Embodiment Design. An exploration of second skins, alternative limbs, exoskeletons, bionic jewelry, and sensory enhancements created to extend the ability of the human body, and challenge our ideas around what we wear and carry.
About the Speaker
Danica Vallone is founder and CEO of Red Hen Industries, a Los Angeles based design and fabrication firm for film, retail, and large scale experiential activations. In recent years, Red Hen’s rapid prototyping abilities have crossed industries into health and aerospace fields.
Danica also serves as Executive Creative Director of Global Effects, the largest and longest standing industry leader in space-related costumes, props, and set pieces. She currently holds a Design Residency at UCSD’s Design Lab, with an emphasis in Bionics and Human Resilience.
