#3DPrinting #Piano #Awesome

The Grand piano is an almost Fully 3D-printed (except for screws, pins, and felt sheets) model with playable keys using accurate action mechanics and functional pedals.

Rods are used instead of guitar/piano strings because 3D printed plastic material can't handle the total string tension and will creep under continuous tension force. Hence tuning will drift, and parts may also fail over time.

There are 24 keys (shy of 2 octaves due to the missing 3rd C), and the reason is to keep the dimension within a specific envelope to ensure a minimum number of split parts that can be printed on a Prusa Mini bed size of 180x180mm.
