On 05/04/2024 San Juanita Leal of Edinburg North places 3rd in the Girls 6A Texas State Championship 800 meter final hitting a top National time of 2:08.88.

Despite missing the top two positions her performance was nothing short of heroic as not only was she able to grab a medal in the 800 meters but also just 6 hours before she won the 3,200 meter race with a 10:02 finish and 2 hours after the 800 meter race she won the 1,600 meter race with a 4:42.
