In this step, we start by deconstructing the terminals in order to solder the cables to the small eyelet of the cable connectors. Remember, connecting to the correct cable is imperative here: pair the red terminal with the positive terminal cable and the black terminal with the negative terminal cables.

Grab a red terminal and unscrew all its components. First screw off the top, then the nut, spring washer, cable connector, the two red washers and lastly the clear washer. Put aside all pieces except from the cable connector.

Find the positive terminal cable on both the tweeter/woofer crossover board and twist the copper strands in order to pass it through the small eyelet of the cable connector.

Place the twisted copper strands of the red cable through the small eyelet and make it stay by wrapping it back on itself.

Put your safety glasses on. Tin the soldering iron.

Secure the connection of the red terminal and red cable by soldering the joint of the copper strands and the eyelet.

Lightly tug on the cable to make sure the solder has adhered/solidified the cable to the cable connector.

Connect the black terminal to a negative terminal cable following the same sequence of above.

Once you’ve completed soldering one set of terminals to a tweeter or woofer crossover board, repeat the same sequence on the other crossover boards. Each woofer and tweeter crossover should have one red and one black terminal.

Feel free to reach out if you have any questions. And like always, enjoy and catcha in the next step where we will secure the terminals to the cabinets.
