Several community community groups in Isiolo county on 19th March 2024 benefited from grants worthy three million two hundred thousand shillings .The beneficiaries have lauded MIDP for the grants following the turnaround the organisation has brought in their area of operation by enabling community bases enterprises to grow their businesses.
Dr Lawrence Mwongela who is the County executive member in charge of trade and tourism said that the move by Merit integrated plan in line with the county plan of uplifting community bases enterprises . Dr Mwongela urged beneficiaries to be accountable with the grants to better their enterprises
Mr Molu Tempo,an official from MIDP said the criteria used to identify the beneficiaries was through adverts whereby the groups wrote their applications and by use of community religious leaders they were identified.
Bagaja Tinde whose Tukinisa group does fodder and bee keeping said the group is a member of cooperative that intend to keep cattle in order to fatten and sell to Isiolo export abattoir once it starts operations.
