Here is the 2025 Nissan Patrol – which is set to drop V8 power for a twin-turbo petrol V6 – in a different outfit.

The Infiniti QX80, the luxury version of the next-generation Nissan Patrol expected in Australia in 2025 has been teased by its manufacturer on YouTube ahead of an unveiling next month. The QX80 is to the Patrol what the Lexus LX is to the Toyota LandCruiser, a more luxurious version with additional features and unique styling.

While the new model will not be offered in Australia – Infiniti ending eight years of local operation in 2019 – it will likely follow the previous QX80 approach in sharing much of its design with its Nissan Patrol sibling.

The latest Infiniti teaser – combined with spy shots and the QX Monograph concept unveiled in August 2023 – offers clues to where the Nissan version is heading as it launches ahead of the Patrol donor vehicle.

The current-generation Nissan Patrol was introduced in 2010, with a replacement due in 2025 that is confirmed to ditch the current version’s V8 petrol engine in favour of a petrol twin-turbo V6.
