Another Active Track Video. Me, and my beautiful wife Rose went out to Barstow, on Hodge Road. I wanted to try and test Spotlight and POI Active Track modes. I have used these a couple of times. Hodge Road was
a great place to run some tests. It was really windy, and the road was very chunky compared to Johnson Valley. I was still able to test whether the drone would be able to keep up in the two modes at faster speeds.
The drone only had a couple of mishaps while testing. Once in Spotlight, the drone switched from my truck to another car parked on the road. Another time, it was unable to keep up with me. I think the wind was too strong, and the drone could only manage about a 31-32mph top speed. Other than that, the drone was really good.
Spotlight mode is a manual flight track. No matter where I flew the drone, it was able to keep my truck center framed. POI tracking, is an autonomous flight. The drone can also circle the subject. Both modes were able to keep up(at a close distance), as long as we weren't driving too fast. Raising the drone to a higher elevation made it possible to keep tracking at higher speeds.
The more I use this drone, the more I am impressed with it. I think this drone is far superior to the Mavic 2 Zoom. The MA2 can track and avoid more obstacles than its predecessor. I would recommend this drone to everyone.
