Hello everyone, welcome to my channel. In the previous video, I showed you the banquet of a rural wedding in China. In this video, I'll be showcasing the dishes served at a Chinese countryside wedding. Most of the dishes at rural weddings are prepared on-site, featuring popular items such as twice-cooked pork, cold sliced beef, cold chicken feet, steamed pork with rice flour, stewed pig trotters, seafood, and more.
Before the formal banquet, the hosts of the wedding typically hire chefs two days in advance to prepare the ingredients. Generally, there are 2 to 3 chefs, and they usually cost around $3000. Additionally, neighbors are invited to help with food preparation and to assist with other arrangements, such as drinks, free of charge. In the rural southwest of China, it's a tradition for neighbors and friends to lend a hand when there's a celebration in someone's household, a custom that has been upheld for many years.
On the day of the banquet, the chefs would prepare the dishes half a day in advance. When it's time for the event, they would steam the dishes again using large steaming pots, and then the servers would bring the dishes to the tables. And there you have it, the delicious feast for the wedding celebration is ready.
