My mom's lasagna recipe:
1 lb ground beef
1 clove crushed garlic
1-28oz can tomatoes
1 12 oz can tomato paste
1 Tablespoon Oregano
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 cups cottage cheese
1/2 cup parmesan
2 eggs beaten
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
2 Tablespoons parsely, chopped
1 pkg. Lasagna
1- lb Mozzarella
oven temp: 375 Time: 30 +minutes.
Brown ground beef and garlic. Drain. Add tomatoes, paste, and seasoning. Simmer 30 min, set aside. Boil, rinse, and drain lasagna noodles. Set aside. Mix cheese filling ingredients. Grate cheese. Butter a 9 x 13 baking pan. Layer with noodles, cheese mixture, meat mixture and grated cheese. Repeat layers. Bake at 375 degrees.
(Note: We use no boil ww noodles. To help the noodles soften we cook the lasagna with aluminum foil over it for 40 minutes, then we remove the cover and cook for an additional 10 minutes so the cheese on top gets browned.
