Discover how to create chainhooks in the Hiro Platform with Nick Barnett, a Software Engineer at Hiro. Chainhooks enable you to create IFTTT (if this, then that) logic that responds to real-time, on-chain events (such as a particular print event from a smart contract or a specific amount of BTC sent to a particular address). Chainhooks currently support both Bitcoin and Stacks.

Chainhooks are the newest feature inside of the Hiro Platform, a web-hosted development environment that lets you create and deploy smart contracts with zero installations. Chainhook is an open-source tool, and you can also run Chainhook locally outside of the Hiro Platform.
