**Clarification: The eCVT does not make belt noises like normal CVTs, but the disconnect between engine rpm and wheel speed in any CVT/eCVT leads to the effect where under hard acceleration the engine spins at a constant speed as the vehicle accelerates. That’s the “moo” noise I’m referring to and can be easily observed in POV driving videos of the Maverick. Thank you to folks for the comments that made it abundantly clear I needed to clarify this point. 👍🏼

The Ford Maverick is one of the hottest pickup trucks to hit the market in recent memory, and part of its appeal is that it comes with a very efficient hybrid powertrain as standard.

But the EcoBoost 2.0L turbo 4 is no slouch, and in this video I discuss the advantages you get when you upgrade from the Hybrid to the EcoBoost Maverick for just over a thousand dollars.

As a compact unibody pickup truck, the Ford Maverick competes with the Hyundai Santa Cruz. The midsize Honda Ridgeline, another unibody pickup, might be considered the Maverick's next closest competitor. The Maverick is a smaller, more lifestyle-focused (less utility-focused) option than trucks like the Ford Ranger, Chevrolet Colorado, Nissan Frontier, Toyota Tacoma, and GMC Canyon.
