OpenVent-Bristol is a low-tech & low cost medical ventilator designed for use in developing countries with equivalent performance to modern ICU spec ventilators and equivalent compliance to safety standards.

The design is completely open source, worked on exclusively by volunteers and development was funded only by charitable donations.
