I am very excited about adding this drivetrain to my bike. I rode a couple of bikes last year in Sedona that had this system. I love it. In my opinion, there are several features that make this system superior to the SRAM 1x12 drivetrain.
The first is the shifter. The Shimano shifter, when shifting to smaller gears, can be actuated from the front of your handlebars. It can also drop down two gears at a time when actuated from the rear. Second, the cassette also has more gearing on the low speed, or largest rings. The top 3 rings are: 51, 45, and 39. Having more gearing on the top end, has made climbing much easier.
